YouTube Marketing Strategies
If you’re not using YouTube video marketing to drive traffic to your website or business, you’re missing out. In this article I’ll show you how you can use YouTube to kick start your marketing campaign and bring a flood of new customers and visitors to even a brick and mortar business.
5 Steps to YouTube Marketing Success:
Keep It Short – in any marketing campaign, short videos perform a lot better than long videos. YouTube now allows you 15 minutes for your videos, but stay well under that limit. Visitors have a lot of demands on their time and attention these days and are a lot more likely to give you 30 seconds of attention instead of 15 minutes. Make It Entertaining – videos can be informative, but aim for entertaining. Even a flat out commercial can do well on YouTube if it’s fun and interesting. Look up Sony Bravia’s commercials for some great examples of this. You might not be able to match their scale, but you’ll get a great idea of how to entertain your customers without constantly pitching your business. Find Proper Tags – Tags are very important to getting your videos viewed. They tell YouTube what your video is about and what search results they should link you to. To make sure you’re getting the maximum exposure, do a search for other popular videos in your niche. When you find related videos that have thousands of views, see what tags are attached in the description. Using these tags will mean that your video shows up in the right search results and shows up in the related section of popular videos. Optimize Your Thumbnails – Thumbnails are the first things that viewers have to pull them in to clicking on your video. These are even more important than a good headline since Google actually publishes the thumbnail in its search results. Make sure that you have something eye-catching, pleasing to look at and, most importantly, an image that is intriguing and makes the user want to see more. Post Your URL – YouTube allows you to post your link in the description so long as you’re posting the full URL address, but you can take this a step further. Add a watermark (with a strong call to action) in your video that shows your web address. This will helps drive traffic and get your website out there fast. But don’t forget that you can also use free services like LinkedTube to make your embedded videos clickable.
